 On August 3, 1992, Baird Automotive opened its doors. Over the years our business has grown thanks to our many loyal customers. As automotive technologies evolved and improved, we have done the same. But, from the day we opened, one thing has not changed – our dedication to our customers!
Baird Automotive has been featured in Washington Consumers' CHECKBOOK Magazine numerous times; first in 1997, then in 2001 and most recently in 2005; receiving Double Check Marks for both price and quality and high overall scores for Northern Virginia. We have also been featured in Washingtonian Magazine several times, and on various local radio shows, including Car Talk.

Joey Baird - 32 years experience
As far back as he can remember Joey had a passion for anything with a motor. When he was 15, Joey and his parents built his first car; a 1955 Chevy. The car was entered in the World of Wheels International Car Show, and took second place in its division.
Graduating top of his class in automotive training, Joey received a scholarship to Lincoln Technical Institute. He worked over 18 years for Stidham Tire Co., mastering his profession. While at Stidham, Joey attended additional training courses and sought numerous certifications, including GM Training School and Advanced Level Emission Diagnosis. Joey is ASE Certified and continues to attend classes annually to update his training for all manufacturers.
Over the years, Joey’s love for cars & passion to serve the community turned into a successful business. Joey has been in the automotive service business for nearly all of his life and still loves what he does.
Joey is an Arlington native.
Carlton Powell - 16 years experience
Carlton has worked for several different shops in the Northern Virginia and has been with Baird since 1997.
Daniel (Jesse) Smith - 19 years experience
Jesse’s experience includes teaching auto mechanics & working for various local shops. Jesse has been with Baird since 2004, is ASE certified and attends annual training classes.
Fred Swainson - 25 years experience
Fred has been involved in various aspects of the automotive world most of his life. He started in the automotive sales business and then ran his own rental car business. Yet with all his years of experience Fred loves repairing cars the most. Fred started with Baird in 2007.
